The December Satellite list was just released and available here .   Why we do this each month I have been in the satellite business for years. During that time I have sold thousands of satellite finding meters to some of the finest dealers and installers in many countries.  Each month we do our best to provide a very complete satellite list that includes all the needed transponder parameters making it easy to find the satellite you are looking for. We also include the DVB-S or DVB-S2 format of each transponder. If you don't know, DVB-S2 is taking over and we have fewer DVB-S transponders each month as they are converted to DVB-S2.  Many meter owners are still using older meters that were made before DVB-S2 and work only on DVB-S. Some installers can't afford a new meter so they use the available DVB-S transponders to align the dish. Our list is important to them each month so they can keep up with the transponders that are still DVB-S. As you can imagine, this changes ea...

Need a way to load that old meter? Do you have a older meter that requires a older Windows that you don't have? Or maybe you are a Linux user (like me) and you don't have Windows at all. What do you do when you want to program or update that old meter? It's getting harder and harder to find older computers with older Windows OS. It seems Window XP always worked the best for updating meters and even for updating the TP lists. I actually keep a very old Windows XP machine for that very purpose. I've been following ReactOS and it's getting to a point where it should be very capable of solving these 'old meter' problems.

If you have a older meter that does DVB-S but not DVB-S2 you can usually still align a satellite dish. You will need our free worldwide Satellite / Transponder list to find a DVB-S transponder on the satellite you want to align to. Aligning to a DVB-S signal will give you a good alignment to the satellite and to DVB-S2 transponders. Current (September 1st, 2020) count. DVB-S2 transponder s: 4635 DVB-S transponders: 2354 Keep in mind that transponders are changing over to DVB-S2 so eventually it will be hard to find DVB-S signals on some satellites.
