Matrix.org is an open network for secure, decentralized communication. It is a decentralized messaging protocol that allows users to communicate with each other regardless of the app they are using. Matrix is managed through an open governance process, looked after by The Matrix.org Foundation - a non-profit UK Community Interest Company.

Matrix is a good alternative to traditional messaging platforms like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger because it is more secure and decentralized. Matrix is also open source, which means that anyone can contribute to its development.
